Melbourne Beach Attractions
While visiting Melbourne, you will find that there are many
attractions
within the area. One main attraction is the Brevard
Zoo. The East Coast Zoological Society of Florida, Inc.
(ECZS) was formed in 1984 with the goal of building a new zoo
for Brevard County. The Brevard Zoo celebrated its Grand Opening
on March 26, 1994. The zoo contains many small attractions within.
For example offering eduactional classes for fifth graders,
to further the education on how animals adapt in the wild.
Another main attraction in Melbourne is the Astronaut
Memorial Planetarium & Observatory. The observatory
conatains Florida's largest star theater & public telescope.
It features the Minolta Infinium Star Projector, the world's
most advanced projector with Digistar 3-D Graphics and 3-story
high motion picture. The observatory attracts thousands of people
year round, with its high tech shows and performances.
Along with the Memorial Planetarium, comes the Astronaut Hall
of Fame and US Space Camp. This attraction is a self-guided
tour, which teaches the history of the US Space Program. The
camp also involves astronaut training simulators. The simulators
are a one on one experience which offers the sensation of space
flight.
Among the main attractions comes many other smaller attractions
like checking out the Florida's Space Coast stadium, and watch the Flordia Marlins warm up for
a season game. The Flordia Marlins is Florida's professional baseball team. Along with pro ball
comes the minor leagues training all summer long.
